The Dragons Untold Story by ~spartan316:iconspartan316:

The Prophecy:
The cavern was filled with noise; the clashing of minds, growls that echoed off the walls in protest at others ideals. The scraping of claws as dragons moved about in frustration. Humans who stood amidst the silent arguments where silent. They new better than to interrupt the dragons silent arguing.

The eldest dragon who had called these few to meet stepped up onto a ledge. Overlooking the cave like room, one strong beam of light shined from a hole in the rock like ceiling onto the spot. Like a small stage or podium spot. He stood for a moment looking at his fellow kind in the room. Many of them where far too young. Such is the price of their folly. Everyone in the room slowly stopped.

The looked up at him waiting for him to speak. He glanced around the room a varied of colors before him in the dim light. Then he spoke:
"As you all know I am Razul eldest leader of the Rhak prophet's tribe. I am holding this meeting on the behalf of all dragons."
He had followed traditions going back generations. Saying his name and the reason they where all here like a reminder. It was his first time calling a meeting and maybe his last.

They all new him well, he new most of them. Despite his nervousness and desperation he filled his voice with stern confidence. After a moment passed he spoke again.
"Things are changing, things are happening. Whether for the better or worse we must take this time to fight back. There have been things set in motion. I need not repeat old stories here. You all should know of what I speak. We must send some one out to retrieve the one thing that could save us all. By this time tomorrow we could have an upper hand on this situation."

A red dragon stepped forward interjecting his words:
"We hardly know what we're fighting, and I for one do not see how this prophecy will help us"
A green-amber colored one spoke out as well:
"We fight humans, what ever else we fight is unstoppable. When we fight each other it only adds to the deaths."
The two started to argue between one another, interupting the meeting. How ever it was not their place to argue. Razul stepped forwards clearing his throat loudly. He twitched his wings impaciently as he waited. The two abruptly stopped one looked slightly ashamed and backed up. The other merely looked up ready to listen.

Razul spoke once again:
"We don't have time for arguing. We must choose some one to take the days travel northeast of here into the mountains. I do not know its name for it has changed over time thanks to humans. There should be a pass into the valley with a small village at its center. The pass will be nigh closed from the winter snow. This prophecy may well be the only thing to save our race. High in the hills is where It will happen. Where It will appear."

Razul got questioning looks but they new of what he spoke and how important it must truly be for them to have gathered about it. Razul leaned forward looking into the few humans (who had said nothing the entire time) that had accompanied him here. He had gotten to know them quite well over the years. Even helped them practice with their weapons when they weren't traveling.

The one with no name would do nicely. Razul sensed something in this young man. He was unsure of his name and had said that they called him Keragnak. To Razul the name seemed odd and unfamiliar. Being around the boy always gave him an odd tingle through his body. Much the same way a human got goose bumps. Razul spoke again, his voice still as strong as before:
"Keragnak will you go and do this task for us?"
He new that he was asking partly for himself more than for every one else. The flury of colors in his mind were conflicting from those around him. Though no one seemed to object thus far. He calmed his mind as he looked at the boy before him.

Keragnak seemed stunned at first but stood a little straighter:
"Yes I will." (His voice was shaky with unease.)

Razul was curtain he would be fine for the job. Only other humans stood in his way. Razul then looked around the room for any signs of disagreement. He saw only slightly nodding heads or closed eyes in thought. No one said anything and it grew eerily silent for some time. Even the colors of their minds seemed to settle, at least most of them. Some one shifted then took a step forward. A sky blue female, twitching her wings in nervousness said:
"I will fly and keep watch from the skies for awhile."
Her soft voice seemed to fill the room.

Razul was pleased that any one had offered such a thing.
"Then set out immediately. The sooner this is done the better off we all are."
He looked at the dragons around him letting his words settle into their heads. The swirling colors of ones mind and emotion was not always a clear place for a dragon to think. Glancing at his human friends and feeling confident things would get done he turned to leave. Returning to his own personal battle was not something he wanted to do, but he had to.

Razul went out of the cavern, through the labyrinth of tunnels that led to and from different entrances outside the mountain. After stepping into the light and stopping to bask in the warmth for a moment, he proceeded down the trail a ways stopping once he was a bit into the forest. There he waited. Not long after the one they called Keragnak walked beside him and stopped. Keragnak did not look up at Razul. A moment of silence passed and then a large pure black wolf stepped through the brush and stopped in front of them.

Her fur was as black as the night. She had soft blue eyes, a small chain that dangled from her neck with something that looked like a tiny cross at the end. Odd metal bands adorned each of her front legs near her feet.
She sat down in front of them, looking at each in turn.
"I am Shenti. I am going with the boy."
Razul simply nodded.
"We must go now. Hurry and gather some things to help travel." Her voice was stern but kind.

Razul gave her an odd look. She was a young wolf still, larger than any normal wolf for sure. Her kind was different. If keragnak didn't have armor and if he was a little lighter weight he could ride her instead of a horse. He spoke after a moment as he stood to go:
"Your... Journey is a short one, even so. May you be as one"

Keragnak looked over at him
"so be it."
His voice was quiet, and after a moment as Razul turned and was about to leave. He spoke again: "wind beneath your wings my friend."
Razul turned his head a bit as he replied.
"Fire to warm your hearth."
With a beating of mighty wings he was gone.
